Certified Translations
Required application documents that are not in German, English, French, or Italian must be uploaded in the Application Portal together with a certified translation (in one PDF file).
A translation has been certified if one of the following agencies has performed the translation and confirmed it with a stamp and signature:
-
The institution which issued the original document (e.g. translation of Transcript of Records provided by the university).
-
A sworn translating expert.
The databases of the Swiss Association of Translators, Interpreters and Terminologists ASTTI and the Swiss Association of Court Interpreters and Translators juslingua.ch can be of help to find sworn translating experts in Switzerland.
Please note: The University of Zurich reserves the right to verify the authenticity of all documents at the issuing institution or other competent authority. The university also reserves the right to reject faulty translations or to verify a translation’s accuracy through competent authorities at the University of Zurich.
