Visiting Study Programs
UZH offers to support Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD students at Ukrainian universities to come to UZH as visiting students. Tuition fees will be waived.
Criteria for the visiting study program:
- Studies have already been started at the home university
- The home university is in Ukraine
- Adequate level in the language of instruction (usually German and English, at least B1 level)
- Suitable study program at UZH

The subjects Human Medicine, Dental Medicine, and Veterinary Medicine are closed to regular visiting students.

Language Courses
The Language Center offers language courses, activities and learning resources for students and researchers from Ukraine currently enrolled or registered at UZH and ETH Zurich.

Regular Degree Programs
For admission to a regular Bachelor's or Master's degree program or to doctoral studies, the generally applicable admission requirements must be met.
Bachelor’s Degree Programs
For applicants with a Ukrainian upper secondary school leaving certificate, admission to a Bachelor's degree program requires the following:
- Ukrainian upper secondary school leaving certificate + two years of university-level studies recognized by UZH. ECTS credits acquired in a visiting study program at UZH are taken into account in the admission examination. ECTS credits earned at UZH must be transferable to the relevant degree programme at the home university.
- Language certificate for German level C1 recognized by UZH

Admission to a Master's degree program requires the following:
- Bachelor's degree from a state-recognized university
- Subject-specific requirements must be fulfilled.
- Language certificate for German or English level C1 recognized by UZH (depending on the study program)

Language Requirements
Doctoral Studies
Admission to doctoral studies requires the following:
- Master’s degree from a state-recognized university
- Approval of one or (as appropriate) more supervisor(s)
- In the case of a doctoral program: prior acceptance on to the program.

Medical Bachelor's and Master's degree programs
The medical Bachelor's and Master's degree programs (human medicine, chiropractic medicine, dental medicine, veterinary medicine) are subject to admission restrictions. Special access requirements apply to foreigners. Ukrainian students do not usually meet these requirements, even if they have protection status S.
